How to Reach Bangalore

Air: Bangalore is connected by air with all major cities of India like Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Mumbai, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.

Rail: Bangalore is connected by rail with cities all over India. The Bangalore City railway station situated in the centre of the city, around the Majestic Bus stand is the major train terminal in Bangalore. Many trains depart from here. Other stations in Bangalore include the new terminal at Yeswantpur railway station which is not very far away from the main railway station and has few outbound trains. The station at Bangalore Cantonment Area, called the Cantonment Railway Station, Bangalore East station, Whitefield, Krishnarajapuram are some other train stations in Bangalore. Not all trains stop at these stations.  Some of the trains that operate from Bangalore are Rajdhani Express connecting Bangalore to Delhi run weekly and the daily Karnataka Express, Udayan and Kurla Express connecting to Mumbai,  Madras Mail, Lal Bagh, Shatabdi and Brindavan Express trains connecting Chennai etc. Express trains ply between Bangalore and cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Mysore etc.


Road:  Bangalore is well connected with Bombay and Pune through National Highway No. 4, to Hyderabad (565 km) and Kanyakumari (719 km) through National Highway No. 7 and Mangalore (349 km) on NH 48. Madras is approachable via Dharmapuri and Vellore (340 km). Buses of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala State Transport Corporations, and a large number of private roadways connect Bangalore with all the major centers in the region.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) handles all the buses plying within the city, and the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates the buses within the state as well as outside the state. The interstate bus terminus of Bangalore is situated in Subashnagar near Majestic Circle and faces the Bangalore City Railway Station.
